I was looking forward top today’s
wedding at
The Ashes as it
been a while since I was last there, and the last time there was quite a few
inches of snow and a bitter wind blowing. Today there was a light breeze and no
snow just a few clouds. As for today’s couple Sarah and Robert, well when I got
to
The Ashes she was full of excitement, think there was a few glasses of
bubbly going round with the girls. Robert on the other hand was not looking
forward to having his photo taken at all, but thanks to a quick sip from his
hip flask the shots were taken and I think he was ok with it to be honest. He
was a bit nervous though as the ceremony got closer.
Once Robert and all the guests had taken their seats for the
ceremony it was time for Sarah to make her entrance.
After a quick check by the page boy and
flower girl to make sure everyone had take their seats Sarah made her way
across the courtyard helped by her bridesmaids. Sarah was in a dress from
Mix nMatch in Rugeley and finished off with a big smile and a sense of excitement.
As she made her into the ceremony barn and down the aisle I think the nerves
really kicked in for Robert and possibly a bit emotional as well, but he
managed to hold back the tears.
The Ashes is a great setting for photos with loads of different
areas to use so once the small family shots were done, it was off into the
grounds for a few picks while their friends and family enjoyed a drink, a chat
and just relaxing for a bit. A few shots on the lawn, up to the lake, and then
back to the courtyard for a few more with the guests. Despite Robert’s dislike
of having photos taken both him and Sarah were great to photograph, and were up
for a few new shots. The time flew by really quick and it was time for the
wedding breakfast, just wish we had a bit more time today but still it was a
good day for me as a photographer, but a really great day for Sarah and Robert.
I’d just like to say thank you to all of their guests and a really big thank
you to Sarah and Robert, it was a pleasure being part of your special day.
Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Palmer
