Claire and Richard at The Ashes, Endon. 13th April 2015

The Ashes is great venue for a  wedding as there is so many different areas to use for photos, so although it’s a few miles more than most of the venues that I do I still look forward to a trip here. Today’s wedding was no different although there was a quick stop off on the way at Moat House for some bridal prep shots before heading off to The Ashes for the groom and best men. 

The guests arrived in style today in an old London Transport Routemaster bus in red exactly the same as the ones I used to get to school each day. Both Claire and Richard seemed pretty relaxed about today really, however Richard was putting on a brave face until Claire came down the aisle, and he shed a tear.

Today was also the first time I had done two ceremonies at the same wedding. First there was the official ceremony with the registrars and then everybody went outside by the lake for a blessing.

Photos over and another different twist for today, instead of the guest being waited on each table had an apron, chef’s hat and one guest on each table then had to carve a joint of meat for the other guests at the table.

Today was definitely a wedding with more than one difference and will be one that I’m sure will stick in the memory of the guests for some time.

Steph and Matthew at Our Lady of Assumption, Maryvale and The Fairlawns Hotel Aldridge. 28th March 2015.

Steph and Matthew were a bit nervous about having their photos taking leading up to the wedding so we went for a Pre Wedding PhotoShoot to Aston Hall a few weeks before the big day. On the day though there didn’t seem to be any nerves. 

Matthew and the lads turned up fitted out in suits from Kevin Paul in Hednesford but didn’t hang around outside the church just enough time for some pics as it was bitterly cold and windy. Steph arrived in style in an Austin Princess Vanden Plas Limousine from Platinum Cars, and again a few pics in the wind was enough for us all before heading in for the ceremony.

Once the ceremony was over it was back out into the wind but not for long as it was too much for us all. If Steph had stayed out in the wind much longer I think she probably would have lost her veil. So it was off to The Fairlawns for photos, drinks and some shelter from the wind. The Fairlawns is a lovely setting for guests to relax and take it easy before heading in for the wedding breakfast.

Despite the wind Steph and Matthew enjoyed their special day.

Lynn and James at St Johns Church Essington and The Barns Hotel Cannock 14th March 2015

I got to St John’s Church just in time to catch James and the lads heading off to the pub for I’m sure was only a coke, and they were back in plenty of time for some quick photos. Lynn arrived on time in style in a Diamler limousine from PlatinumWedding Cars in Hednesford. Some quick photos and it was in for the ceremony and some warmth as it was bitterly cold outside.

The ceremony went without any problems, and after signing of the register it was time for confetti and some photos of Lynn and James by the door of the church. Instead of heading straight off to The Barns Hotel there was a quick stop off on Cannock Chase for some photos of the new Mr & Mrs Barlow.

The Barns seems like it’s going to be a regular for me this year, second wedding of the year and I’m back here again, which isn’t a problem as it’s always nice to see some familiar faces and there is never any pressure from the venue on me as a photographer to rush through the photos. So despite it being a bit cold today I think everybody had a great time.
