Today was a nice day for a wedding at The Moat House, it was a Thursday so not many people about other than guests, the light was perfect for photos, and by the time the guests were enjoying the wedding breakfast the sun was shining ready for them to have a relaxing evening at picturesque venue. So here are a few photos from Sarah and Liam’s big day at The MoatHouse.

Back to The Barns for today’s wedding. Lads first for photos today and when I got to Lee’s mum’s house I can safe fully say that he was nervous as I don’t think he stopped talking while I was there. The girls on the other hand seemed pretty relaxed when I got to The Barns. Hannah was most definitely relaxed having her hair and makeup done by Mirror Mirror. I think Hannah would have let anything stress her today.

Lee arrived at The Barns in style in one of the Austins from Platinum Cars, so it was a few photos of him and the lads before he went off to see the Registrar. Not to be out done the car then went round to the hotel reception so Hannah could arrive in style as well, before heading into the venue for the ceremony.

The ceremony went without any problems, even chief bridesmaid Chelsey managed to walk down the aisle without any incidents.

After a balloon release and some family photos, it was time for a few shots of Hannah and Lee. The Barns is not a venue where there are acres of gardens so as a photographer it just means you have to be a bit more creative with the photos.

Photos done and it was off to the wedding breakfast and speeches, and a couple of tales about Lee making a wall which late fell down, and an incident with Tootsie the rhino at the Safari Park (if you want to know what happened Google it I did).

I think everyone enjoyed themselves today and a big thank you to Hannah and Lee for inviting me to be a part of their special day, and to their guest for making me feel welcome.

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Aston.

Off to Weston Hall, in Stafford for today’s wedding. Nothing really different you may think about today’s wedding but Billy turned up in a pink ambulance, but made sure no one got any photos of it. As for Samantha well she had arranged for her horse to be brought to Weston for some photos. So here are few photos from today’s wedding.

Helen and Graham at Lichfield Registry Office and St John’s House, Lichfield. 19th March 2016-04-15

I meet most of the couples who’s weddings I photograph at wedding fayres or I get an email looking for a price, but I had been recommended to Helen and Graham by Paul at Platinum Cars, not that unusual you may think but when it turns out that Helen is a good friend of Paul’s it makes you think you are not just another photographer on a list.

I turned up at Lichfield Registry Office and as usual the weddings were running late, so when Helen turned up in an Austin Princess from PlatinumCars she had to have a quick trip round til everyone had gone in. Once everyone was in Helen turned up wearing a dress from Phase 8 and with flowers from FineFlowers in Rugeley.

I think that this was the first time in all the years that I have seen the ceremony room at Lichfield Registry Office full, and as Helen came in there was definitely a few of the guests that had a tear in their eye including Graham.

Ceremony over and it was out into Beacon Park for a few quick family photos. Now at this point on most weddings there is a guest or two that either have no interest in the photos or are quite happy to try and play me up. The playing me up is fine it adds to the day, but today no one not even Paul from Platinum who was there as a guest. So some quick family photos as it was definitely getting a bit cold for everyone to be standing around then off to St John’s House.

I have never done a wedding St John’s House and if you didn’t know it was there you would definitely miss is as you drive through Lichfield. This in a way adds to its charm of a hidden gem. It’s a venue that is well worth adding to the list of potential venues for any wedding. So with everyone packed into the bar and lounge, and enjoying a few canapés the Yorkshire pud was nice and the food cooking in the kitchen smelling nice (definitely Chinese in flavour) it was time for me to go and leave the new Mr & Mrs Martin with their guests.
